FAQ

  • When is it recommended to cross The Great Belt?

It is recommended that you, as far as possible, avoid crossing The Great Belt bridge by car on Saturday, and instead cross the bridge on Thursday the 30th of June, Friday the 1st of July, or wait until Sunday the 3rd of July. It will be possible to cross the bridge by train on the 2nd of July, but it is recommended that you book tickets and seats and seats in advance, because there is expected to be more passengers than usual.

  • When does the 2nd stage of the Danish Grand Départ start?

On the 2nd stage the race will start at Stændertorvet in Roskilde at 12:15 o'clock. The last rider is expected to cross the finish line in Nyborg around 17:10 o'clock. Before the riders there will be a publicity caravane and other vehicles on the course, so there will be much more than the professional riders for spectators to see. Find the time table for the 2nd stage here.

  • Which other options do I have to cross The Great Belt while the bridge is closed?

The train traffic across The Great Belt will not be affected by the temporarily closing of the car lanes across the bridge. DSB is setting in longer trainsets and encouraging customers to travel well in advance and to buy return and seat tickets for the journey.

The ferries offer an alternative to the closed bridge. This applies to Molslinjen and their “fast ferries” in the north and the ferries at Langelandslinjen in the south. On both routes there is expected to be a lot of traffic in the days leading up to Tour de France. Therefore, it is a good idea to book tickets in advance and leave from home in advance time on the day for travel.
