2nd stage: Roskilde - Nyborg

Traffic information

Roskilde is start city of the 2nd stage of Tour de France which will affect the city centre most of the day on the 2nd of July 2022.

The start of the 2nd stage of the Tour de France will have a significant impact on almost all of Roskilde on Saturday the 2nd of July 2022.

The area within Ringvejen will be particularly affected. The area surrounding Roskilde harbor and The Viking Ship Museum will be included and will be inaccessible by car.

The course and large portions of the city center will be closed for traffic for up to eight hours on the race day.

The 2nd of July is also the last day of Roskilde Festival, thus traffic to and from Dyrskuepladsen will be heavy. This means that large portions of Roskilde will be affected by closures or temporary roadblocks which can slow the usual traffic and cause longer travel times.

Throughout the three days of Tour de France is in Denmark, a fan zone with a big screen will be set up in the city park “Byparken”.

Parking

Five large parking areas will be established around the city from where you can walk, bicycle og take the train or bus to the city center.  You are required to book a parking ticket in advance.

  • When does the 2nd stage of the Danish Grand Départ start?

    On the 2nd stage the race will start at Stændertorvet in Roskilde at 12:15 o'clock. The last rider is expected to cross the finish line in Nyborg around 17:10 o'clock. Before the riders there will be a publicity caravane and other vehicles on the course, so there will be much more than the professional riders for spectators to see.
